Biography
Herman Alricks (1803-1874) was the eldest son of James and Martha (Hamilton)
Alricks. He was admitted to the bar in 1825 at a very young age, having
received his professional education under the direction of Thomas Elder,
Esq. He practiced law in the Dauphin County Courts, Harrisburg, where
he met and married Mary Elder Kerr, who died in 1857, leaving nine children,
the youngest being under five years of age. He died January 28, 1874,
at the residence of his son-in-law, James McCormick.
