The History of Middletown Exhibit

  • 10:00am – 6:00 pm | Penn State Harrisburg Library
    Explore Penn State's 2nd largest Library.  Visit the illuminating "Memories of Middletown: A Snapshot of the Community's History Since 1755." Exhibit.

Opening Reception with Chancellor Kulkarni

  • 5:00 pm | Student Enrichment Center
    Come meet Chancellor Kulkarni and families and staff members and enjoy light refreshments before attending the Cultural Exhibition.

Cultural Exhibition

  • 5:30 pm | Student Enrichment Center Theatre
    Enjoy a variety of dances and music from around the globe performed by Penn State Harrisburg students.

    Get ready to root on the Lions as they play Iowa – A Big10 challenge you won't want to miss.  Enjoy game day goodies with fellow Nittany Lion fans.  Donate to the National Society for Leadership and Success' Hurricane Relief fundraiser for a chance to win Penn State paraphernalia.

Family Fun Zone

    Enjoy carnival-like atmosphere with food, games and music.

Painting and Drawing Demonstrations

  • 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm |– Gallery Lounge
    Prof. Paul Manlove
    Painting and drawing examples from ART 020 and ART 050 classes will be on display for students and parents.  Portrait drawing demonstrations will be held throughout the day to help clarify teaching objectives.  Everyone is welcome to draw along with the instructor. 

Greek Life Panel

    As a parent, it's a good idea for you to learn about fraternities and sororities so you can help your son or daughter make the best decision about whether or not he or she should be part of the Fraternity and Sorority life. The Office of Student Life and the Greek Life Council invite you to learn about the benefits of Fraternity and Sorority Life and hear personal narratives from members of Greek Letter Organizations.

Kappa Kaberet

How much does it cost to register?
There is no fee to register for Parents & Families Weekend.

We registered for Parents Weekend, but our plans have changed. How do we cancel our registration?
It’s not necessary to notify us with your change of plans.

What happens during Parents & Families Weekend? 
Parents and Families Weekend is designed for family members to visit your student(s) and get a taste of what campus life is like.

When is the best time to arrive? 
Check in for Parents & Families Weekend opens on Friday at 4:00 p.m. in the Student Enrichment Center. The check in table is also open on Saturday beginning at 10 a.m.

Do I have to check in? 
No, but we recommend doing so. We will have printed event schedules, campus maps, event updates, and other handouts available throughout the weekend.

Should we bring other family members? 
Everyone is welcome. Family-friendly events will be marked with a paw print on the schedule. This will help you select activities that may be enjoyable and appropriate for younger children.
