Dear Callie,

I enclose a small bill of Einstein (1) which provoked me today. I had forbid any one of the family dealing at that store. In the next place, I do not allow any bills to be made at any store for goods.

I told Einstein's boy that I knew nothing of this bill & would not pay it. Martie (2) says you got a dress somewhere & that your sister thought you had paid for it. I did not dream that I owed any Jew. Your sister is pretty well, and the baby- James is in Phila.

We have nothing new, but have had a great rain storm with freezing which injured the trees by breaking the tops. Let me hear from you about the bill. I had a letter yesterday from Hampy. (3) He is well.

Yours truly,
Herman Alricks
