Harrisburg Jany. 28th '64 Thursd.
Dear Callie,

I received your letter this afternoon. It is post-marked yesterday 27th. I did not know until last night that Mrs. Pearson was going this week. She had told me, next month. I enclose you ten dollars. I sent you one of Hampy's letters a few days ago. If you choose you can get vaccinated again. We are all well. This town is full of drunken soldiers. Two regiments arrived-but most of them will return-they behave well-at 10 last night the streets were quiet. Aunt Spangler is with us at present. She and Cousin May came in haste from Phila.

I believe by reason of Will Hamiton's [fare?]. The weather is oppresively [sic] warm here.

Hampy is engaged in making another railroad. We are all well.

Yours truly,
Herman Alricks.
