Dear Callie

I received your letter a few days ago. It was sent to your sister, and I have not seen it since. Perhaps Mr. Willard ought to have given you receipt in full. You sent me none & someone said you do not spell well. Spell separate, thus. I had a letter yesterday from Hampy. He was well. We are all well here but Harry who has the measles, but is doing well. We have had-Hamilton, soldier John, staying with us for 2 days. He went off again this afternoon to Lewistown to recruit. He expects to be called out again into service. His three years will be up in August. He says the Adjutant counted from 40 to 45 battles & fights the Company had been in, & he was never hurt.

Last night it snowed all night, & all day today & we have slushy & bad walking, but it will help the grain & also keep back the fruit. It looks like winter outside. It is near the 1st of April, & I am too busy to write much.
Some scary people are expecting a raid -- But they will hardly get to Troy.

They say Mr. Coverlys property will nearly pay his debts. Mrs. C is willing to pay the balance out of her own estate. Gottschalks performed in the Courthouse on Monday night last to a large audience before he goes to Europe. Martie was there & greatly pleased. Price up 5 Cents to $1.--

Yours Truly
Herman Alricks
