Harrisburg Dec.[ember]1 1863
Dear Clara,

I received your letter and I was very glad to hear from you. We saw Mr. Gehrherc (sic) (1) to day he said that he had you and Fannie (2) at Albany the other day.

You said that we had forgotten to put your hoop plaid skirt in but we forgot it. Aunt Martha (3) brought it home. We forgot it till we had the box mailed up and then it was too late.

I had my hat trimmed the other day but I do not like it very much the way she put the fether (sic) on.
Mr. And Mrs. Butterworth (4) are bording (sic) at Aunt Lizzie's (5). She has a great many borders (sic) just now she has some of Gen.[eral] Sahds (sic) (6) staff there.

On Wednesday just as I was gonin (sic) to school Cousen (sic) Frank Frons (7) came to our house and stayed till Thursday at 4 o'clock.

And on Wednesday Aunt Jane (8) and Martha Kerr (9) came to sisters. They did not go hime (sic) until Friday at one o'clock.

Mary Kerr (10) and Willie (11) and Mary Cox (12) were invited to the hop the other day but they did not go.
Beckie Orth (13) says that Ed Hickoc (14) comes to see Mary Kerr most every evening those girls seem to be having a very nice time this winter as they were at Alice Frazers (15) on Friday and Mary Cox's on Satderday (sic).

I would like very much to go to Troy and see you at Christmas. Cousen (sic) Sue (16) and Aunt Jane both want me to come over and see them at Chrismas (sic)but I don't know about it yet.

Herman and Harry (17) have both had very bad colds and I have had one myself but we are getting better now.

We had a letter form (sic) Aunt Hilly [Kitty] (18) the other day. They have raised about too (sic) hundred dollars for the skaiting (sic) club and the (sic) are fixing it now they are goin (sic) to build a house and the people that pay can have the use of the house. I saw the plane (sic) of the house the other day there are to be two rooms in it. One fore (sic) the ladies to dress in and the other for the people to put on there (sic) skates.

From your loving sister,
