Biography
Chauncey McCormick was a son of William G. and Eleanor Brooks McCormick.
He was a third generation Chicagoan, grandson of William S. McCormick,
one of the founders of the McCormick Reaper Company and he attended
school in Chicago, the Groton School and Yale University. He served
with the U.S. Army in France during World War I and, after the War,
organized a food relief expedition for the starving people of Poland.
He was a member of many civic organizations and was president of the
Art Institute of Chicago.
